Comment on DropBox - The Best Cross-Platform Folder Sync by Brendan Orr

I've been using Dropbox on both my Mac box and my fiance's Linux Dell Mini9. I've got our desktops symlinked so we save stuff to it and work in tandem while on the phone at our own places. I, too, would hope for bidirectional functionality on the iPhone app, as well as a way to save at least the pictures to the camera-roll (instead of logging on to the website).

Another selling point for me is the 30 days of revisions that it keeps on all files. That feature alone is worth the subscription fee (a deeply forgiving and unlimited-by-size undelete? for this clutz it is!)

The service is fast too. I noticed while updating a video (185MB, I think) it was transferring it as it was recieving it as if sent through 'tee'.

Also if you have quite a few friends, the referral bonus (250 MB up to 3GB) is nice too. Though I will probably just stick to the free service for now. Should I need more space, I'll just utilize my CrashPlan account.

Comment on Windows Office 2007 User Interface is a Disaster by Shabi

hmm.. Don't get angry of what I'm about to say next.

I strongly disagree with you. I think eventhough some of the buttons in the new office are too big, the overall new office gives me (as a heavy user) a much better working experience than the older version.

The GUI at first was shocking more than it seemed advanced but I have to tell you it took me a few minutes to discover what I was looking for, each time I needed it. I felt completely confident in the new design to continue working knowing I will find what I need every time, And it really happened. Something about this GUI is very correct, I can't even explain.

Add to that the fact they changed the order of the menus, placing most useful design buttons at your reach (also during writing - you get pop up design box with most-most useful tools; Add to that the fact you got live preview of design changes; Add to that the fact you have hidden tabs showing only when needed (headers, picture tools, etc) and I have to say, again, I strongly disagree and really like it.
You know I am not a big Microsoft fan; I just compromise for PC + windows (XP at the moment till am totally convinced 7 has no Vista bugs) and the rest are non MS products, but the new office is really working for me, Have to say.

I have to admit 2 things:
a) I never used Mac office in the past years.
b) You are not the first one that dislikes this new design.

on the other hand - heard a few people that like it a lot.. So go figure..

:)

Mac office seems like a new adventure I should try once..who knows..

I think you pretty much said all is to say bout this must see-in theater-don't expect nothing-most silly scenario-movie.
I went to see it against any logical quality thought. It's a fun effects movie.. so exciting seeing the world destroyed in such well made powerful effects..
Ever since the first trailer with the Tibetan shocked priest seeing the wave I have been expecting it on wide screen with surround sound. Totally enjoyed it. Forgot all about it an hour later.

I loved Woody Harrelson also,I think he is a surprising casting decision; including with him featuring a trailer prior to the movie - it seems he is making a kind of comeback I am grateful for.

Speaking of Trailers prior to the movie, We had Avatar, and Prince of Persia also.. Guess it's world wide trailers..
Avatar.. My god.. expecting it so much.. wow.. speechless

Thanks for the ad.. breathtaking!

Very nicely written.
Your signature in the end is beautiful, yet feels out of place.
It gives the feeling of an open letter to "DropBox", but the post isn't phrased that way.

The suggestion for the iPhone app is dead on, and I hope someone picks up on that.

Keep on the good work.

Ariel,
Dungeon Crawl Classics is neither done by WotC (but by Goodman Games), nor is it new to 4th Edition.
Please take a look at:

While it may not be the best D&D has to offer to you (or me), these adventures ARE classics, in a sense that they represent the stuff played at the dawn of the hobby.

I had a great time tanking! I just wish item placement was a bit more balanced. Since we stayed in a single area for the same amount of time as another group, I thought it a bit unbalanced that the loot discrepancy was so large. The team that won had over 7 unique items, while our area only had 3. It's too bad we didn't have more time to explore the caves to get even more loot. All-in-all I still had a great time and I will certainly play again next year.

Very interesting summery.
Fantastic photos of the dwarven forge. NOW I understand how it looks.

I'll leave it to better and more experienced players to give their opinions here.
Again, very nice read.

Well, it all depends on what the players want. I like dungeon crawls and killing stuff. I have also been known to run a game that has had zero combat. That is what makes this game good. The rules really don't matter all that much, it's the GM and the players.
